WEST MIFFLIN — Clara Barton Elementary School received a generous donation this week, as Bowser Subaru gifted $10,000 to the school through the Subaru Loves Learning program, which is partnered with the AdoptAClassroom.
The funds will be used for classroom supplies at the school.
“Clara Barton’s staff and students want to thank Bowser Subaru for its generous donation and continued support of our school,” said Clara Barton principal Sharna Baker. “The funds from this donation will provide much-needed supplies for our classrooms. We look forward to continuing this partnership together.”
Representatives from Bowser Subaru were on hand Thursday for a brief assembly, during which staff members received gift boxes from the dealership and students and staff were able to thank Bowser Subaru.
“I think it’s really important to our Bowser Family (that we give back to the community),” said Bowser Subaru marketing director Megan Erney. “We’ve been owned and operated since 1983, and to be able to give back to the community, and especially the students, it just means the world to us.”
She added, “Teachers can choose everything from indoor recess toys to pencils, crayons, any supplies that they may need, even Kleenex and Clorox wipes during cold and flu season. It’s anything that they would need for their classroom to help provide students with the best possible learning environment.”
